I was in the San Gabriel valley, killing time while my son was visiting his friend in Monterey Park. I stopped to explore the nearby Whittier Narrows Recreation Area. Here are some pictures.

This was the day after New Years in LA. I made the mistake of going out without my hat. It was hot with the sun beating down on my head in the protected areas. Temperatures were near 80. On top of the river trail levee, I got a bit of a breeze, so it was fine. It was amazing how clear the air was.
