UCSB 12-23-09 by Ronald Horii
UCSB is my alma mater. I got my bachelor's and master's degrees there, graduating in 1977. I remember visiting the campus on a high school college visit when I lived in LA. I couldn't believe it. It was like no place I'd ever seen before. Of all the colleges I visited, it was by far the most beautiful, in terms of its natural environment. I couldn't wait to go there, which I did when my family moved to the Santa Barbara area. My favorite part of the campus was the lagoon and beaches. This is where I could go to study in peace or relax after stressing out on finals. Here are pictures of those areas.

I went down to Santa Barbara to visit my daughter. While there, I spent a couple hours walking around my alma mater, UCSB. I went along my favorite route, along the cliffs above the coast and around the lagoon. Here are some pictures from that walk. I found a geocache and picked up a travel bug along the way.
