Flashback Friday by Robert Hanashiro
The first in a series of occasional posts of long-lost images discovered stored on Zip Disks and CDs that have been in file cabinets in my home office for years.
This first installment features three boxing images that I have been searching many years for, including several hours looking through boxes and files at USA TODAY's office in Virginia about 6 years ago.
Please read the captions to get a bit of the story-behind-the-photo...
Thanks for looking!
(I am on a quest to find images that are not in the USA TODAY digital archive. When I discover some of these gems I will post them.
Hopefully this will eventually migrate to my personal website or blog.)

Man, good stuff. Glad you found these images. I've had this happen too. When you find them it's one of the best feelings in the world.

Lots of Zip Disks won't mount on the computer's desktop... the "click of death" will cause me to lose a lot of images.

I went back through some 10 year old CDs and found many of the images to be corrupt.. What is your feedback about storing photos on CD? And by the way I am pretty sure I didn't spend $$ on the best CDs I was cheap like that when I was getting started..
