Sardinia 73 km ride to castle of Pedres and tomb of Giants by Stefano Giovannini
73 km round trip to castle of Pedres (1200 AD) and nearby tomb of Giants (1900 BC). I got a flat and the direct road was interrupted by a road collapse. The locals were so amazing, drove me to a bike shop that opened to deal with my issue and bought me drinks. I feel I never have enough time. All the photos of Sardinia on coffee table books seem to show a desert island of pristine land devoid of people. The Sardinians have a reputation for being reserved and aloof, but my experience has been of incredible hospitality. The guy told me if I had a Ferrari he would not have helped, but since i had a bike he went out of his way — at Castello di Pedres. (near Castello di Pedres)
