Rio Summer Olympics - Day 16 by Robert Hanashiro
My last day of covering the Rio Summer Olympics had me at gold medal competition at boxing and water polo. It was a big day at boxing with the USA young fighter Shakur Stevenson going against Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez. Stevenson reacted to losing a split decision by pulling his shirt over his head, hiding his face. It made for an odd photograph as he went over the his opponents' corner.

As I always say, boxing is one of the toughest sports to photograph --- or more precisly --- the toughest thing to capture in sports photography is the glove-on-face-punch.

Thankfully there was good reaction images ot me made because my timing was still pretty much off.

Camera: Nikon D750; Lens: Nikkor 200-500mm zoon; Exposure: ISO6400, 1/1600 @ f/5.6.

Thanks to the Nikon Professional Sevices crew in Rio for their help and special thanks to Mark Suban for his support.

My good buddies Robert Deutsch and Jack Gruber were repsonsible for keeping sane during our 20 days in Brazil ... for that I will always be in their debt.

Thanks for looking!

I guess I was the "combat sports" specialist: fencing, judo, Taekwondo, wrestling and lastly boxing...
