Rio Olympics - Day 3 by Robert Hanashiro
It was another emotion and historic day at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. I covered the Women's Sabre compeition where Ibtihaj Muhammad became the first American Muslim woman to compete in the Olympic Games wearing a hijab.

Muhammad defeated 33rd ranked Olena Kravatska of Ukraine, 15-13, in the round of 32 but In the round of 16 she took an early lead against ninth ranked Cecilia Berder of France before losing a very emotionally-charged match, 15-12.

Thanks to #Nikon Professional Services for their help and support (my bags to Rio have now be missing for 7 days --- thank you American and LATAM Airlines) and to my colleagues Bob Deutsch and Jack Gruber for keeping me sane.

Also it was great seeing good friends Robert Beck ad Lucy Nicholson at fencing!

Thanks for looking!
