End of Days (1999) von New Deal Studios
Continuing on with our #retrospective series, today we are highlighting the work that we did for End of Days.
The movie, directed by Peter Hyams, starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gabriel Byrne. Matthew Gratzner was the Miniature Effects Supervisor and Ian Hunter was the Visual Effects Art Director.
For the project we fabricated and engineered a 1:6 scale church miniature and mechanical effects including: dome collapse, "pew wave," stained glass window blowout, and a floor eruption. In addition, we mechanized and lit a New York Times Square 2000 ball and sign.
