Worms Revolution - Classes by Worms
Worms Revolution features four different classes. Each class plays differently and offers the player different advantages and disadvantages. Players will eventually be able to unlock a total of 16 worms (4 of each class) to choose from to go into their teams, which makes it possible for a player to take any combination of classes into the game. Players will be able to use a team of all four of the same class if they prefer, or mix and match classes to get the best results.

Classes sound really interesting. Im guessing the Classes (not the body types) will be a more polished version of the Wormpot option that existed in World Party.

Different classes will be stupid, the game can easily get unbalenced this way. I really hope you guys balence them will, if you do then it will be fun. If not, youll ruin the gamemode .

Elmar Van We've got a team who have been here a very long time who have done a great job at balancing and implementing the classes. Don't knock it before you've tried it! There's also a Classic Versus mode and its up to the player at the end of the day which classes they choose to use.

This classes system, when will it be implemented into the game/ has it already?

Fredrik Kristiansen Hultin Please see above. Using classes is completely optional, you can pick and choose which make up your team so its totally up to the player how they want to play the game. We've also added in a 'Classic' versus mode, which when chosen gives you a team of standard class worms, and also a few of the new features (which we've yet to talk about indepth) will not be included in this mode. So this will suit anyone fancying a standard game of worms.

Though we strongly suggest trying it before you knock it

I do agree about the balancing, it needs to be pretty damn tight between the different classes otherwise people will only stick to a specific class if they are too good. I'm sure you have already designed a system where only certain classes can use certain moves in certain ways... Keep at it... sounds like it should be good fun game T17

I would rather not see any class's in the next 2d worms and see worms stick to the classic game play we bought the last 5 in the series for. Please increase worms reloaded to 8 players like the dos game and have the new game support 8 players aswell and throw in LAN support again

good game design is about innovation and new ideas done well - people say 'oh just give us what we like and do it the old way' - but how is that progress? they cant just re-do the same thing again and again, there needs to be a change and I think the classes system will be just the ticket!

Fredrik Kristiansen Hultin We want everyone to play and like it too As Kel said, we've got a fantastic team here who have been here a very long time. They've all been doing a great job on Revolution for the past 2 years almost now.

There are changes, but hopefully you'll all enjoy playing with the classes as much as we do and there is always Classic mode, but I'm hoping you're all going to be loving the new features!

Big fan of Worms. However I must say I never had the same pleasure since W:A / WWP.

It seems a shared thought I'm sure you guys have brainstormed about this. The last incarnation was a good step forward and hopefully this will be even better.

Power to you guys:)

One thing I'll bitch is.. I dont know.. I just never got used to this graphic style. maybe because 2D was so good and because we got used to it.. who knows.

Ekrem Atamer The 3D graphics and landscapes can be really stunning There's some very impressive stuff at play, which you'll all get to see more of later. Don't forget that Worms Revolution will be retaining the 2D gameplay style though Best of both worlds we say!

Agreed with Alex... Well implemented Innovation is deffo the way forward and I agree I think this could be just the ticket if implemented correctly... I always liked worms best as a simple 2d game and I think this idea should reinvent the game (by adding new layers of depth) but without actually reinventing the game we all enjoy.
Looking forward to upcoming news on this one, worms/T17 feel free to message me when you need a playtester

I'm really glad you guys chose the 2D path. As I said, there is a great deal of "being used to" old style and the nostalgic feel since I was younger those days:)

Wait, I'm a bit confused; "16 Worms, 4 of each class?" Will these be prenamed Worms that are all essentially identical in terms of gameplay and look or are there slight differences in look and stats for each of the 16 Worms? Because I like custom naming Worms...
