@ Martin Ebel who said "If the park has posted closing hours and you remain on the property with the intent to not leave then that is a crime. ". No one who was arrested in the circle of protesters disturbed the peace. No one. The people who were making noise were not arrested. Also interesting to note that after the last circle protester was arrested and the police took us all away, people on the perimeter moved back into the park and there were no more arrests. The police and City Hall were trying to make a statement by arresting us.

Jealousy is what it is. If these people were ceo's of big companies they wouldn't be protesting anything. This is America, if you WORK hard YOU will get ahead and get to a place you want to be in life. Staying downtown and being wild and smelly is not the way to do it.

While I do not agree with arresting anyone protesting in a non-violent way I will say, after living all over a country heading towards and perhaps long past outright corporate fascism, the Portland Police is the only relatively mellow police department I have ever encountered. This is the first place I have lived where I have not felt threatened and erroneously targeted simply for existing.

The 25 people peacefully arrested sitting in Jamison Square Park were charged with.. ...Disorderly Conduct. wow it's out of control in Portland. Justice Department - take a look at this abuse of power!

Watch out Portland, or those dangerous people will stand on YOUR grass with signs that say, "We Are the 99%" or "Occupy Together".

Those grass standers are a threat to lawns everywhere! Think of suffering blades of grass!

And think of how upset you are making people in Portland, neh, people all over the world, by your mere existence! Stop pointing out the economic inequality, the lack of jobs, the corporations that pay zero taxes.

In the 60's it was a matter of duty to be arrested to overwhelm the resources of those that deny 1st amendment rights because it is inconvenient for them to allow it, make it inconvenient to deny "right to peaceably assemble."

Hell, you really protected Terry Schrunk park from the power of free speech, and you sure did serve the powers that be to stem off any sorts of dialogue concerning the increasing disparity within our citizens. Andy Rambo, I completely and wholeheartedly agree with your above assessment with one exception. The people who participated in the peaceful circle were not shouting. We kept our voices intentionally moderate - the shouting came from those on the sidewalks. I was never read my rights. Neither were at least 4 of the other protesters, that I know for a fact. Apparently you have to ask for that now.

PPD, the world is watching you and you will soon be out of a job. You will be obsolete as the world moves to a concensus that the few will no longer control the many. We are UP OFF OUR KNEES and will no longer bow down. To those pictured here, LOVE and SOLIDARITY from Ashland--you are heroes.
