Tar Sands Action -- Snapshots of 2 Weeks of Courage by 350.org
Such huge thanks to the 1,252 courageous activists who put their bodies on the line at the White House, and the thousands upon thousands who put their spirits forward to show all manner of creative and powerful support. Check out a glimpse of what's only the beginning...

If I wasn't in CA I'd take great joy in joining you there in DC! Thank you for your sacrifice of time, money & energy to stand up for all of us. We will not forget, nor give up - the time has come to take back our planet for the good of all in the natural world. We are fed up and will not bend over to the Corps any longer. Obama used to be my President - not anymore. Obama - One of "our own" - jsut gutted the clean air act. The Tar Sands Pipe Line is next. Absurd!

Beautiful photos that perfectly capture the courage & heartfelt concern that has motivated so many ordinary people to put their personal lives on hold and themselves on the line to send a clear message to President Obama and the world. Particularly striking has been the quiet, steadfast determination & great dignity with which this protest has taken place. At the same time there can be no mistaking the disappointment and anger written on the faces of many of the participants – truly powerful & inspiring. With this kind of passion & conviction, backed by the plainly-spoken truth articulated so brilliantly by Bill McKibben and many of those interviewed, the movement is beginning to grow exponentially. Thank you from all at 350.org Durban South Africa

Thanks to all who held this important rally, and to all the supporters behind the scenes. I'm extremely disappointed in Obama and although I understand that this is for the "sake of re-election", it doesn't make it right. We all need to continue to stand up for what we believe in and hope that others will follow. Thanks again to the 1,252!

Not really sure u r doing things quite the way they should be done, no hell no yes i am sure you're wrong I know better an when I am wrong I will say it, yes you are wrong as well, for the word tells me what it would take to fix the things that are wrong and it starts with truth.

Yesterday CBC was saying "more than 1,000" were arrested. I wondered why they didn't say how many were actually arrested. Then, I wondered why they didn't say "more than one person" was arrested. Then, I wondered why they didn't say "less than one billion people have been arrested at the White House". Numbers, numbers - "polis is eyes!"

Thanks you all! Sometimes I feel so hopeless, and then I realize that folks like you are out there as well. And it's not hopeless as long as one is lighting a candle in the dark.

You renew my faith in people power! Wish I could have joined you, and I wish even more that President Obama is paying attention and will respond positively to democracy in action. Thanks for being there!
