Matthew Riddle I love ya bro and for you to even step In there once made me very proud. Now the fact that you were dominant in your time in the UFC is just bonus. You worked hard and lived a dream that thousands and thousands of fighters strive for. No shame in retiring or taking a hiatus..unfortunately there's a lot more to life than competition. For people like you and I that sounds almost impossible but you have so much more going on for you and you have a bright future no matter what path you choose. I would love to see you fight again but if not, all I can say is wow Matt fucking riddle fought AND did VERY well in the UFC. Quite the accomplishment. For now you should Come to upstate ny and help me train for my next fight lol...god bless

Start your own gym and make money with your skills bro. I had to give up MMA because the sport did not support my family and there is no shame in being responsible.

I am sorry to hear that. I know what my cousin has gone through. I am in a way happy that you are retiring because you have a beautiful family and you can get hurt to where you can not do the things with your family. Granted I did not get hurt doing what you do, but I am 34yrs old and disabled. It might be a blessing. Good luck!

Hope everything works out for you man. You are a brilliant MMA fighter because you give it your all. You'll succeed in whatever you do because that's who you are and you'll give it your all like you always do. There's nothing more respectful than taking care of your family. You became my favorite fighter - even more you gained my respect - in New Orleans. Battle on the Bayou. You didn't even win that fight. But to me and practically the entire crowd, YOU WON! One, you kicked ass (You should have won, seriously). And two, when the judges called the fight for the other guy and the crowd started to roar with anger, you jumped up on the cage and MADE US cheer for him. Most people wouldn't do that. Right there man, you became my all-time FAVORITE. You had my respect. And anyone who says you are letting them down doesn't matter. That was a tough decision and even more so to tell it like it is publicly. Anyone who says they are disappointed in you isn't a true fan or friend. This just makes me respect you even even more.
