Hello to our Life After Hate family!
At the beginning of the year, Life After Hate (LAH) partnered with a think tank from NC, academic experts, and others to embark on a National Institute of Justice-funded research project looking at individual-level pathways into and out of far-right extremism. Additionally, the research is being undertaken to assist LAH with our newest program, Exit USA, which aims to help individuals who wish to disengage from far-right extremism.
If you'd like to be involved, we would have you participate in a day-long interview where one of our academic researchers would come to meet you at an agreed upon day, time and location. It is essentially a life history interview, so the researcher would ask questions about your childhood & upbringing, how you got involved in the far-right movement, what attracted you, the beliefs you had while there, how and why you disengaged, etc.
The interview itself is recorded and, once transcribed, your name is erased and replaced with an audio code. It is confidential; your name will not be associated with the research, nor would there be information that would identify you in any way.
If there is anyone who is a Former from the far-right and who was active in the U.S., we would love to hear from you!
P.S. We understand that a day-long interview can take valuable time away from work and/or loved ones. To compensate you for your time and/or any work you might have to miss the day of the interview, you will be given a credit card pre-loaded with $250 once the interview is finished.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Very moving story about Lauren Manning, and what it takes to take responsibility and create the possibility for redemption.
