The practice of basic human goodness teaches us that we belong to each other, we are one. What affects our family, friends, neighbors, strangers also affects us because we are all of the same human family. If more human beings turned toward one another, rather than away, we would learn the value and necessity of empathy, kindness, and compassion in our lives.
Let us raise our voices with kindness and compassion, especially to those whom we feel deserve it the least, because they are the ones who need it the most. It is in this way that we will make a difference, by lending a voice to those who cannot raise their own. This is how we honor the voiceless.
