Join us on October 8 for a powerful discussion on the role systemic racism plays in silencing voters of color and what's at stake in this year's election.

As the 2020 Census count comes to a close, states prepare for the 2021 redistricting cycle—but not all states will have maps drawn that truly represent voters. In 2019, the League of Women Voters of the United States launched the People Powered Fair Maps campaign in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The campaign has prompted state-led actions to create transparent redistricting processes that involve citizens and ensure the needs of communities, rather than elected officials, are represented as districts maps are drawn.
On October 8, the League of Women Voters of the United States, along with LWV of Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia will host a discussion on the role systemic racism plays in silencing voters of color and how it’s shaped one of the most important processes for ensuring voters’ voices are heard. These community leaders will share information on the work being done to end some of the most egregious racial gerrymandering in the country—and what all is at stake in this year's election.
Join us to learn what you can do in your state and across the country to fight systemic racism by voting, being counted in the census, and getting involved in the redistricting process!
Absentee and mail-in voting are safe and secure ways to cast your ballot this election. Request your ballot early, return it quickly, and make your voice heard.
Do you have a problem with your mail-in ballot?
As a first-time voter, make sure you are aware of what can disqualify your ballot. Most states have a "notice and cure" process and notify voters if there's an issue with their ballot.
