2015 Fig report.
Our fig tree, named "Angelo," has produced one fig this year. It was delicious.
The tree grew from a cutting given to us about 40 years ago by our friend Angelo. The tree that this cutting came from originated in Italy and lived many years in Long Island.
The tree has become a multi-stem bush. In the Doylestown climate, the above ground branches die off in bad winters, then re-sprout from the root system in the next spring. When we have mild winters, the tree survives and continues to grow. After 2 or 3 consecutive good years, it may produce a dozen figs.
