When I served as a school board member on the largest elected school board in Illinois, I advocated for reducing property taxes corresponding to the amount we received in additional funding from the state. I was told that we could apply for a property tax relief grant, which we applied for but did not receive. Meanwhile, tax levies, budgets, spending, continued to increase while enrollment decreased. I voted no, every time.

Pathetic. Summary of the Draft Report by Illinois Property Tax Task Force – Wirepoints Original | Wirepoints

You probably know the joke about what you get when a committee designs a racehorse. A camel. But what do you get when an 88-member committee with seven subcommittees, comprised mostly of Illinois

This is a MUST READ article!

If you voted for a Democrat, this is the absolute double speak, hypocritical garbage they produce.

Here are just three items I want to comment on after skimming this review:

1. Task Force recommended shortening TIFs from 23 years to 10-15 years. Meanwhile. Democrats and Republicans MANY times voted to lengthen TIFs to 35 years when I was a state rep. I always voted against this.

2. Task Force recommends more state spending on schools to replace property taxes. Truth - we already increased state spending on just general state aid by over $ 2 billion (350m +700m+1,050m) in last three years over the FY2017 base per Evidence based funding model and few if any school has lowered their levy.

3. The task force suggests that other counties receive the same homeowner exemption that Cook County gets. The bill to raise exemptions to Cook County's level in 2017 did not become law. Instead in the budget bill Cook County homeowner exemption ONLY was raised. Cook homeowners get a $10,000 exemption while the rest of us get $6,000.

They had many opportunities to fix all of this and actually voted the opposite way.

They are liars on these proposals.

How much longer are you going to take this??

My opponent is a strong supporter of the Tax Hike Amendment. The Pritzker/Madigan/Villa team is bad for business and taxpayers. I’m pleased to have the endorsement of NFIB PAC, the voice of small businesses. I’m a NO on all tax increases.

A Progressive Tax Will Doom Illinois Small Businesses | National Review

There is nothing “fair” about Governor Pritzker’s “fair tax amendment.”

"No one in Illinois really believes the same legislators who haven’t balanced a budget in 20 years and ran up a $140 billion pension deficit are going to stop at rates that “tax the rich” yet only give the state’s poorest enough of a break for a fast-food meal."

Vote no on the Progressive Tax and send a message to Springfield!
