Your response misses the whole point in trying to dismiss his actions as being "in the heat of the moment" and passing the buck to Cyborg for things she said. This isn't about fighters saying "mean things" tit for tat. Cyborg has been subjected to consistent misgendering. Her testing positive for steroids a decade ago doesn't make that okay and the fact that you try to use that as an excuse for calling her a man just shows how clueless you are. Your gym has also shown a pattern of transphobic, misogynistic and gender stereotyping behaviour, and again, you are either blind to this or willfully promote these ideas and then skirt the issue when the heat comes down. You're a great gym with a lot of fighters I like, but until you address these attitudes I will be rooting against you.

Hi. My name is Carolyn and I have been a huge fan of mma, jackson wik, many of your coaches and fighters for the past decade. I got into athletics late in life. I was 38 years old. I grew up hating sports. and being really alienated by them. It was a different time back then. and being a big girl, tall and also queer made it a complex cocktail where i just didnt fit in. like my body. or myself. these days I work as a professional climbing guide and I am about to turn 50. I take great pride in my profession. I am not the best climber. But I'm a work in progress.

I dont know for sure what drew me to MMA. I think at first I caught a season of the UF and was struck by the training methods. and then the personalities and people.Ive struggled with a lot of stuff in my life. stuff I mentioned above and a pretty rough home life as a kid. I dont really identify with the alex honnolds of the world. We dont come from the same places. Thats why I connect more w. fighters.

And your coaches seemed well goddamn smart. really smart. I find MMA really fantastic and inspiring. Condit. Jones. Waterson. Holm. Your team seems like a home of excellence. I really admire it. and I use there term Home here intentionally as I see that its more than just a building. more than just a job for you all. more than just a career. or even a sport. its a lifestyle. a calling. a code.

I'm genuinely heartbroken by your response here. This is not an apology! Adults, Professionals do not make public remarks regarding someone’s gender because they thought they heard something. We are not in kindergarten anymore! Regardless of what happened back stage, it does not make it ok for this professional so called to make such rude hurtful comments especially to the public!! Your photographer was given media credentials under the assumption that he could remain professional in a work setting. His transgender comments are not acceptable, and I should not be asked to work in an environment where sexual harassment is acceptable. My management has contacted Dana White and the UFC with my concerns, and moving forward I hope his media credentials are denied allowing a more professional photographer to take his place. If the ufc is to be treated like a real sport then this type of behavior can not be accepted. Imagine if your photographer was backstage at a WNBA finals and called the MVP of the playoffs a man...he would no longer be licensed to work their events. I expect the same support for a company I helped make millions for last night.
