About Integrated
We live in rural south Georgia, where not too many things change. Well, as a group of adamant high school seniors, we want to make a difference in our community. For the first time in the history of our county, we plan to have an integrated prom. Yes, we know exactly what you’re thinking. “Didn’t segregation end almost forever ago?” We thought so, too. Unfortunately, our county must not have received the memo.
Nevertheless, change has to start somewhere. So why not with us? We believe that no matter what you look like, we are all entitled to the same opportunities in life. In essence, we’re all the same in one form or another. Everyone has blue blood that runs through their veins, and when we bleed out, it turns red. There aren’t any stipulations, or strings attached. This is what we want everyone to see. We need people to open their eyes, and obtain more than just a view.
Since January of last year, we have been preparing for our prom. We have put in countless hours of labor, to get the ball rolling. So far, we have crossed many milestones, but regrettably, we have not reached the financial goal that we need to sponsor this prom. With prom right around the corner, we are having to buckle down, work even harder, and give this the very best that we've got.
Our school system says, they aren’t financial able to sponsor an integrated prom. This is why we need you and your resources. Every little bit counts, whether it be financial donations or goods and services. All that you can do will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
