Team Outcome, third place winner, addresses Peru’s struggle to manage how mining royalties are spent at the local level. Their proposal aims to improve the lives of people in rural mining communities by utilizing the mining royalties to fund projects that will improve people’s lives, e.g. new sanitation strategies. In addition, they seek to directly involve communities in the decision process by drawing on community leaders and informing stakeholders on how the mining royalties are spent. What do you think are the benefits to such a participatory model? Are there other countries and industries to which this approach could be applied? #GlobalGoals #RoadToLima Read the full proposal in our new book: http://media.wix.com/ugd/bffa29_ad09367d011d46d197e1c36b31789e2c.pdf
