A starving Cocker Spaniel rescued off the streets of Los Angeles!
If you are BLOCKED from watching this video, please use this link instead: https://vimeo.com/eldad75/videos
AMOS lived under a house, scared of humans and too scared to walk around and search for food. This fear led to starvation, and luckily, someone snapped a picture of him and sent it to Hope For Paws.
Lisa Arturo and I headed out to the rescue, and together we were able to rescue him. Usually a dog under such extreme stress refuses to accept food once captured, but this was not the case with Amos... he was so hungry!!
After grooming and medical treatment, our friends from Add to Your Family. ADOPT Animal Rescue Team welcomed him into a foster home, and now we need your help with sharing his story so we can find him an amazing home.
Please share and have an amazing and safe weekend ![]()

Hello everybody! I have some good news and some not-so-good news. The good news: We found Walldo!!! His rescue video is now READY here and it's a great way to start 2021: https://www.HopeForPaws.org ๐ฅฐ๐
In more good news - Kelly Weston (who called me about Walldo), is setting up Uplifting Echo - a non-profit organization dedicated to helping unhoused people and their pets. This is great for the community, and I am so happy to have more eyes, ears, and good people out on the streets looking out for people and animals: https://www.UpliftingEcho.org โฅ๏ธ
More good news - Our friends at Let Them Be Little Feline Rescue found WALLdo the most purrfect home!!! The end of the video will warm your heart and will make you SO HAPPY!!! ๐
They still have many others who are looking for a home, so if you're ready to expand your family, please visit them here: https://www.LTBLrescue.org
Now for some not-so-good news.
1. Kelly (founder of Uplifting Echo) was injured in her first attempt to rescue Walldo, and she is still learning how to use her hand ๐
This is a good reminder to everybody to be VERY CAREFUL when handling cats you don't know... the injures can be quite serious. I have a feeling that some of you had the experience or know someone who had this kind of a bad experience. I always love reading and learning from these stories.
2. After managing to avoid close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID in the past 10 months, it finally happened as one of the members of the medical team we work with the closest just got infected. This led to a complete shut down of the hospital, and the past few days have been hectic with moving the animals to other hospitals and foster homes. I really hope we can all be back at work very soon. This is an opportunity for a reminder for EVERYBODY to PLEASE, be safe, and do your absolute best to avoid getting infected/sick.
3. This next one is BAD and GOOD news. The bad is that I just got a call about a dog who was hit by a car - it looks terrible I won't even share. The good is that a Hope For Paws fan is the one who found him and called me. She took him to the emergency hospital we work with, and now he has HOPE - please keep your fingers crossed for Sammy ๐๐ค
Even though we have these challenges thrown our way, we continue to work - even if it's by managing everything from home and making rescues happen through Good Samaritans โค๐
This is where sharing our videos makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE and it really helps with saving lives. Please click over to our website, and below it, you will find the share option - feel free to use it EVERY DAY! ๐
Have an amazing 2021!!! With your help, we will make this year amazing no matter what - you'll see ๐
Half of the world is already in 2021, we are getting closer, and I am full of HOPE that things are about to get better very soon ๐๐
I am currently running a LIVE CHAT here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tqMnUitm-I
I will be chatting there for an hour, so if you would like to join me there, I would love that... I'll try to keep up - the chat moves pretty fast at times.
I'll see you there ๐
Just when I thought 2020 couldn't get any worse ๐
Someone just found this dog roaming the streets and I asked them to get her immediately to the hospital where many other Hope For Paws animals are healing/recovering from surgeries.
The injuries the team at CARES found under her coat are not something I can post on Facebook... it's too graphic and I don't want to be blocked.
The doctor described her as a 6-year-old dog in the condition of a dog who was abused for 15 YEARS!
The crazy thing is that she is MICROCHIPPED, so I called all the numbers (including a hospital where she was treated in 2014 and they gave me another number), but every person I called denied it's their dog! (I believe one of them, and unsure about the other two) ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I don't care... she is our dog now, and with your support, we will fix her up and make sure her life will be AMAZING moving forward ๐
Yesterday I posted a video of another white fluffy dog who was discarded like trash - it's THE BEST RESCUE VIDEO OF 2020 and I really hope you will all watch it here: https://www.HopeForPaws.org/injured_dog_on_the_freeway
This experience was one of the most uplifting experiences of my life and I am so happy I got to capture it on camera so you can experience it with me โค๏ธ๐งก๐๐๐๐
If you are considering an end of year donations, we would LOVE to have you join us as a Hope For Paws member so we can continue helping these animals who wouldn't survive without us.
Thank you so much to all of you who are already one-time donors or monthly donors! You all have a huge part in creating all these happy endings ๐
Have an amazing day!
