Today we interviewed the iconic Ivanka Trump on business, motherhood, celebrating #womenwhowork, bringing the passion to what you do and some things about this rockstar mama that may surprise you (like that she does not own a blow dryer?!) We're so thrilled to have such an incredible #LadyBoss on the site today, check it out mamas.

Living with uncertainty is never comfortable or easy — it can be total hell, actually — but it's something moms know how to navigate better than anyone. From the minute you become a parent (or even start trying to become a parent), your life becomes filled with big unknowns. Some of these you have the power to control; others you don't. And when you have no ability to gain immediate clarity or answers, and the stakes feel so huge, there's nothing to do except keep moving through the discomfort of not knowing.
It feels maddening and unfair to not have clear election results this morning, especially after the sustained, crushing uncertainty of this year. And it's not fair. But it is something we know how to do. There have been countless days this year when moms have woken up feeling disoriented and unsure, both of how to get through the day and what the broader future would hold. We've been unsure how we would get our jobs done, how to facilitate our kids' education, and whether or not it was safe to do the basic daily activities we've always taken for granted. We've been unsure if we'd be able to see loved ones or have a job in a month or next year.
And still, through all of it, we've moved forward, in tiny steps, through the minutes and hours and days, one at a time. We've taken care of ourselves and our families. We've learned to adapt to the need to function without the stability of knowing what is going on, sometimes on multiple fronts of our lives at the same time. It's tragic and infuriating that we've had to become good at doing this, but that's what we do: moms can adapt to anything. We can exist with any kind of discomfort. We can power through any pain. We can show up for ourselves and our kids even when we don't know which way is up.
So it might not feel good to wake up this morning without answers about the election, but after the year we've been through, if there's anything we are well-conditioned for right now, it's living with uncertainty. We'll get answers. And until then, we'll just have another day and figure out how to do our jobs and get our kids through school, because we might hate this, but we do know how to do it. We're still thinking about all the incredible insights and perspective we took away from Serena Williams' fireside chat with Lincoln President Joy Falotico at the HeyMama Summit. We know one thing for sure: We're feeling more driven than ever to doing everything we do with enough intensity to make a space for ourselves.
