How do you feel when somebody gets in your space? You know, like a close-talker.

It gets really awkward for us, given that we have guns and stuff that we don't like to share. So, give us a little space. Just a little, enough to be polite.

While you're at it, give wildlife a little space. The selfie generation thinks it's cool to get a picture with "me and the deer," or bear, moose whatever. We can authoritatively tell you that this technique will not work with moose.

Unless you want a picture of a moose charging at your back while you're smiling at your phone. If you get a picture like this, feel free to email it to us so we can share it. The hospital probably has decent wifi.

Today a moose arrived in town, and went exploring. He wandered past 8th Street at the bus stop, and meandered perhaps down towards the Aspen Meadows. He had ideas, after all.

But, finally he ended up in the wetlands in the Moore Open Space, where he met a nice lady and her dogs who were running without leashes. She reports that the moose did not approve of their presence, and charged at them. Fortunately, the moose didn't pursue this and everyone went different directions.

You see, moose have a real sense of personal space. If you, or even worse, your dog, gets in their space, you are immediately at risk. No joke. Seriously at risk.

Moose are not smart. What they are is very grumpy. If you find yourself in the vicinity of one, we recommend that you immediately move away, without a selfie. If said moose shows that it notices you, your dog, or your phone (sometimes they stomp their feet, shake their heads, and make sounds) this would be your cue to get away! But don't turn your back, because moose can run 30 miles per hour. Even scared, you can not outrun him, and he might not be nice if he catches you.

Instead, feel free to take a selfie with an Aspen officer. Some of them even resemble moose without antlers. Just don't get too close.
