About
Ubuntu Ultimate Edition is an operating system based on Ubuntu, which is itself based on Debian. Ultimate Edition has all the goodies pre-added you have came to love from Ubuntu. Ultimate Edition has beenMore tweaked to have better wireless hardware support out-of-the-box. The creator aims for a better user experience and improved usability. Join the Ultimate Edition Oz site for help & support, apart from the Central forum. We have the Australian site as a backup in case of server errors.

▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ Comparison with Ubuntu ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓

Ultimate Edition is based on Ubuntu but should not be confused with or be considered Ubuntu. The major difference between the two is that Ultimate Edition has its own repository that contains restricted multimedia drivers as well as packages that require license acceptance to install. This goes against the Ubuntu philosophy (free as in speech). Ultimate Edition cannot install restricted multimedia codec's by default due to US laws, but makes installing these codecs and applications easy post-installation additions with use of the upgrade icon, or with Ultamatix, without the need to add new repositories. The Ultimate repositories also contain newer package updates than those provided by the official Ubuntu repositories.

▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ History ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓

Ultimate Edition started off as Ubuntu Christmas Edition and was made as a Christmas present for the Ubuntu community. Due to the popularity of Christmas edition, the creator TheeMahn created Ubuntu Ultimate 1.1. Ultimate Edition has software pre-installed and ready for use even in the live CD/DVD environment than Ubuntu. Ubuntu Ultimate 1.2 was released shortly after 1.1 with new software. To answer the call of gamers, TheeMahn then built Ubuntu Ultimate Gamers Edition. The Gamers Edition came with a large variety of games for Linux. On October 18, 2007, TheeMahn received an e-mail from Canonical asking that the use of the Ubuntu logo and name stop. The reason was that Ubuntu Ultimate had become too different from Ubuntu and that continued use of the name and logo may damage the Ubuntu Project. Ubuntu Ultimate then became Ultimate Edition.

Found out today, yes, I've contracted Covid and I've been fighting it for a while now without knowing what it was. I thought at first it was just spring allergies alongside my chronic sinusitis. I was wrong so I continue to recover although I've been getting better and worse kinda oscillating, but again I'm thankful for a strong immune system.

I'm about to close my Facebook account because the huge increase in unsolicited ads and suggested sites, There's no way to turn these annoyances off. You are too fucking pushy Facebook, and I'm damned tired of you. Take heed you are about to lose users in the droves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary Hammond is feeling optimistic.

I'm really amazed by my 72 year old immune system. Two days ago, I was so miserably ill and today I appear to have all but stopped the hacking cough, abdominal muscle soreness has reduced by at least 80%, and iust a little wheeziness. I'd say I'm about 90% recovered. I was really scared a couple days ago as I haven't been seriously ill in a very long time so my recovery speed has restored my confidence. I thought I had contracted pneumonia.
But I'm much better now.

Before you blow me off at 20 gigabit dual fiber, do you not think I can not do the same with dual 100 Gigabit fiber FACEBOOK. Playing with a toy I am writing called UNO (Ultimate Network Optimizer) deliveredMore me the shaft. I am human. The NAS (Network Attached Storage) is 20 Gigabit, why is my computer dual 10 Gigabit fiber too? Let's Jack that up to 20 Gigabit. Mission accomplished, however, while I was pulling from the NAS I heard a long beep. Lost one of 4 SSD's (all are brand new), did not care. Destroyed the entire raid array & will rebuild it.

I go through that so you do not have to. I have already purchased a 16GB stick for it, just have not torn it apart yet. Was Uno pulling… More

Sorry for not being around but I've fallen ill. I'm constantly sneezing and have a hacking cough, runny nose and sore throat. I cough so much my abdominal muscles are really sore. I'm not feverish but am quite miserable. I'll be back when I get over this.

Never did I think I would see the day I'd see Repostorm building Repositories & non-native applications that day is today. In 38 seconds it built an Arch Linux Repository based on debs. It also converted themMore 64 debs at a time. It detects how many CPU cores you have and just keeps launching itself. It watches for one to die and launches another one, until it is done. NASTY app. What used to take me hours now seconds. It is uploading to a repository near you

I am TheeMahn to come see when it comes to Parallel Processing. I have studied it. Where do you think a Thread Ripper Pro is on that chart?

We are up to 45 downloads of Ultimate Edition 8.1 Gamers and I am really pleased you all seem to like it, but I do have another trick up my sleeve. I have the development .iso for 8.2 debugged and packaged justMore like 8.1 so when I upload it make sure you grab the .deb files to give it the look you all expect to see. It comes with the newest linux kernel 6.2, and both Mate and Plasma desktops, along with added programs. I may upload it this afternoon or evening so be watching for the Link when I post it. Enjoy!!!!

I've now had 41 downloads of my Ultimate Edition 8.2 Gamers and haven't heard a lot of feedback as to how it installed and ran on your hardware. Give me a shout and let me know if you like it or not. Good or bad, I would like to know what your experience has been like. Is it functioning well for you? Anything you might want me to add to it?

Arch Linux in general makes Ubuntu look like a joke. Fastest O/S I have ever seen. Software, by default, is turned off. I write many applications. Beyond building Operating Systems. I do have an app I canMore enable by default that adjusts your entire thought process. This is not it, I am sure most of you are not programmers.

Reality. Can you imagine where I am? I can build both. At the same time. There is not a man on this planet that does what I will show you. I did tell you I would fix it.

Play Video

Told you I would fix it. I can now extract and build non-native applications. Yes, I am building debs in Ultimate Arch Linux. I will have to expand it to do the same in "Debian" based O/S's

Facebook takeMore heed That is a nasty app:
Compression detected: tarball (Tape Archive) - Zstd

Repostorm has parallel processing, get r done. Zstd compression was written by Facebook. No joke BTW. They need a slap on the back. Great job Facebook. Did you see how fast it processes packages in Arch? That is standard. I have not pushed parallel processing in compression yet. All that happened in one minute. Mixed packages, picked them up, and rebuilt them.

I did not want to go back to a Ubuntu / Debian based O/S. I fixed that. Wrote software and fixed that.

Ubuntu dropped a new dev iso today and I installed it in a vm. First off pointer kept constantly blinking, Next tried to open Caja, it would not launch until I sudo su'd caja. then it opened as superuser. TheyMore made a lot of changes. I repaired the bugs and got it working right. I installed my deb pkgs and it is right as rain UE 8.2 with new 6.2 kernel and lots of fixes. looks good now.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just downloaded ultimate-arch-2022.12.31-x86_64.iso from source forge.

Fairly new to Linux, but loving the arch based distros.

Excited to get installed on a MacBook air and see what it's about. Liked the livecd when I test ran it.

Any plans on supporting brtfs during install?
