About
PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY.

This group is intended to provide peer support and useful information for all trans people living in Scotland, including non-binary people, regardless of gender identityMore and whether or not they transition. Friends, families and allies living in Scotland are also welcome. People living in Scotland who are exploring their gender identity and questioning whether they might be trans are also welcome.

Trans people who are not living in Scotland may join if they have a connection with Scotland. For example, they may have previously lived in Scotland or they may be intending to visit or move to Scotland in the future.

When a person applies to join, they will automatically receive a set of three questions that must be answered in order to confirm their eligibility to join the group. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

We recognise that intersex people can have very different experiences from trans people and that most trans people are not intersex. However, any intersex people living in Scotland who feel this group might be helpful to them are most welcome to join.

Please note this is NOT a dating site and anyone who makes use of this space to pester other members to get them to add them as friends, or who tries to establish unwanted contact will be removed. We do not welcome anyone who actively seeks to fetishise trans people, their bodies, or identities.

The page is meant to be a safe, supportive space for people to share tips, news, information and ideas. We can not comment on the validity of anyone who advertises support service links on this page, and ask people to exercise due caution. We do not permit individual crowdfunding requests to be posted. Responding to requests for information about commercial services, such as hair removal providers, is fine but repeated unsolicited advertising of commercial services is not allowed. If you wish to advertise a research survey or a media interview opportunity, you must get approval from a group moderator in advance.

The group is designed to compliment the work of professional organisations, such as the Scottish Transgender Alliance (www.scottishtrans.org), LGBT Youth Scotland (www.lgbtyouth.org.uk) and LGBT Health (www.lgbthealth.org.uk).

Administrators are not always online, but we do endeavour to make sure conversation is open, positive and constructive. We will not tolerate offensive, threatening or personalised comments. Remember, this is a support group and is NOT a place to debate contentious subjects. There are plenty of other trans groups on Facebook where people can have contentious debates instead of here.
