Our upcoming Photography Competition begins April 15, 2021 and submissions will be accepted through May 31, 2021.

TheMore competition has an independent judging panel, and offers up to $1,000 for Grand Prize, as well as other prizes.

Categories include landscapes, ocean views, wildlife, and nature from anywhere in Florida. Flora, fauna, macro, underwater, urban wildlife, black & white, scenics, and more may be entered.

In celebration of ,"Backyard Bird Photography Day", Saturday 03/20/2021, here is a Chestnut-backed Chickadee from my backyard in Mendocino county, Northern California. Canon 7D MKII camera and a Canon 100-400mmMore v.1 lens. Fill flasj was provided by a Canon 550 EX speedlight. Camera settings used were AV mode, ISO 800, F 9.0 at 1/160th of a sec.

" What big feet you have!" Said the Purple Gallinule to the Purple Swamp Hen. Just showing the differences between the confusing popular Florida birds. The Purple Gallinule has a yellow tipped beak and bigMore yellow feet while the Purple Swamp Hen does not. But both have huge feet. I took the Purple Gallinule pic recently st Circle B Bar Reserve with my Sony A6400 via Sigma's C 150-600 at 1250 F-7.1 and the Purple Swamp Hen a little while back at the Apopka Scenic Drive.
