About
Love Has No Borders is a grassroots, radical movement in solidarity with Refugees and Resettled communities around the world. We think globally and act locally through organizing efforts to create networks,… More support systems, mutual aid and friendships- to empower community, support autonomy and create power from below.
We do not act as or believe in the charity model- we act in solidarity and respect the agency, autonomy and self determination of all people. Love Has No Borders is explicitly anti-fascist and we are vocal and active in our community against fascism, racism and xenophobia.
The vast majority of the world’s population, ourselves included, are exploited and oppressed by capitalism and the state. Xenophobia and militarism are common enemies as well. It is this recognition of common cause which allows for a culture of solidarity and mutual aid to emerge. We know that our wellbeing and liberation is intimately tied with that of “others”.
The way we operate is critical to subverting power imbalances and destabilizing the boundaries that keep us apart. Where possible, we therefore strive to work through the horizontal model of solidarity rather than the top down model of charity. We seek to create relationships of trust and respect where we challenge our own privileges, bridge the gap between ourselves and “others” and create partnerships with newly arrived individuals and families fleeing the explicit violence of war or the more obscured violence of our global economic system.
We believe that migration should not be a privilege of those fortunate to be born in wealthy countries, but instead, that all people should be free to migrate where they want regardless of their ethnicity or nationality. We express this through listening to and working with refugees in our community, responding to their self-determined

"I wanted to give y’all a quick update. I’ve been in 3 hotels in 2 weeks and I’m running low on money. I’m just a few days from being on the streets. I’ve called 211 and other places for help, but every time I call somewhere, I get a new phone number to call somewhere else and I ultimately don’t get… More any help. My health has taken a nose dive in the last few weeks and I know that I won’t survive being homeless on the streets. I need to find a home asap so I can resume my hospice nurse visits.
