Edmonton Catholic School Division are removing the option to continue choosing online/in person for the remainder of the year.

The year has been split into 4 semesters and families were… More told that they could choose between online/in person learning each and every semester for the year.
Edmoton Catholic are now removing that option.

Apparently once at a Christmas concert, the grade 6 class was to sing the national anthem - when they finished, they automatically bowed their heads and began reciting the Lord's prayer, not even realizing that it wasn't part of the anthem.

Alternative headline; "Students, especially those in specialized programs suffer unnecessarily from insufficient teachers because fully publicly funded school board discriminates against non-Catholics when hiring."

Please correct me if I’m wrong. Private schools receive government funding up to 70% of what is paid to public and separate schools per pupil rate. I have recently heard, however, that the remaining portion of student tuition, paid for by the parents, is receipted as a charitable donation and subsequently tax deductible. Am I right to understand that the ‘privately paid’ portion is essentially also being paid by the public as it reduces the taxes paid into the system by those who access private school?

Does anyone know how many private schools there are inside Edmonton city limits?

Also, can I confirm there are 213 Edmonton Public Schools and 91 Edmonton Catholic schools, with those in the know?
