For those following this ongoing case out of Toronto;

"The board of trustees voted in an August 2020 public session that Del Grande had not breached their Code of Conduct, even though the report prepared byMore Bird concluded that he had."

"While Mr. Del Grande’s choice of words alone would be sufficient to find that he violated the Trustees’ Code of Conduct, I note that Mr. Del Grande’s actions are exacerbated by the fact that he chose to suggest that including criminals – such as cannibals and rapists – in the Code of Conduct was somehow similar to including members of the LGBTQ+ community.”

"Education experts slam leaked Alberta curriculum proposals. Lessons would make Alberta a 'laughing stock,' education professor says."

"One could equally say “water sustains everything”, or “the fire of theMore Sun”, or “Oxygen”, or “the Holy Ghost”. All would be true in their way."

"They say first graders should learn Bible verses about creation as poetry and fourth graders should learn that most non-white Albertans are Christians.
Educational experts also say the proposed changes are regressive, racist, unsupported by research and would make Alberta's school curriculum vastly out of step with most of North America."

I don't usually like to share about my own kids forMore obvious reasons, but I have watched my young ladies & their friends
consistently Hons. & Dist. students become increasing stressed & overburdened with the current situation. Their grades are slipping, classmates are becoming sick & I honestly think it's all just becoming too much for them.
Thoughts?

Please correct me if I’m wrong. Private schools receive government funding up to 70% of what is paid to public and separate schools per pupil rate. I have recently heard, however, that the remaining portion of student tuition, paid for by the parents, is receipted as a charitable donation and subsequently tax deductible. Am I right to understand that the ‘privately paid’ portion is essentially also being paid by the public as it reduces the taxes paid into the system by those who access private school?
