The Women’s Department is a non-partisan but not non-political group of friendly, passionate and energetic people who organise events, socials and campaigns. The Collective meets on Mondays in the ANUSA Boardroom at 6pm. We are always looking for more members to join and get involved! Visit our website to find out more: www.anuwomensdepartment.org

The ANU Women’s Department is open to all ANU students who identify as women, woman-aligned, experience gendered oppression as a result of being perceived as a woman, and trans and gender-diverse people who may find our services useful.

The Women's Officer is the official representative of the Collective and Department, and is available to provide support, referrals and advocacy both within ANU and the wider community. This year the Officer is Siang Jin Law. You can contact her at sa.womens@anu.edu.au. Jin's office hours are to be confirmed at the start of the 2020 academic year. The Deputies are Miriam Wicks-Wilson and Queenie Ung-Lam.

We facilitate two facebook groups for our members, which have different purposes. You will need to answer entrance questions to be accepted into the groups. If you do not answer yes to ALL of the questions, your membership request will not be accepted. This does not mean you are not a member of the Department, just that we cannot allow you into the facebook group without first agreeing to the Safer Spaces Policy. The Safer Spaces Policy governs both facebook groups, and you can find it here: https://anuwomensdepartment.org/about/safer-spaces-policy/

The first of the two groups is ANU Women's Department Social/Alumni. Membership of this group is not limited to current students, but all members are expected to preserve the confidentiality of other members' identities and planning activities conducted in this space, and to prioritise the needs of current identifying students. Join here: www.facebook.com/groups/ANUwomensdepartment/

The second group is ANU Women's Department Organising. In this group, we organise community resources/trainings, events and actions (campaigns, or advocacy efforts) that serve the interests of our members - it can involve off-campus or residential communities. Join here: www.facebook.com/groups/anuwdorganising/

If you have any questions or concerns please email the Women’s Officer at sa.womens@anu.edu.au.
