Just a friendly reminder that as an inanimate object, the Apple II cannot contract COVID-19. Further to this, it is not capable of having political opinions or affiliations, and shouldn't be capable of influencing you to annoy your fellow Apple II enthusiasts with Republican or Democratic propaganda.

As moderators we have a low tolerance for thisMeer sort of thing. Try it, and your post will be deleted. Try our patience by doing it repeatedly, and your membership will be deleted.

Play nice kids, and remember if it's not Apple II related, post it on your own timeline!

Hello group. I've been lurking for a while but here is my first post. I have a wire-by-wire apple 2 build on you tube.
It takes a couple of hours to watch the whole build, but please let me know what you think. Comments and feedback are welcome.

I don't own a real Apple II. But I use emulation (AppleWin), A LOT.

I've been able to use PlayStation controllers with AppleWin as Apple II joystick but ...

... Is there a modern version of the Apple II paddles that you could plug on a modern computer (USB ?) and use with an emulator ?

Here are some photos from my current project. It's an ESP32-based general purpose expansion card. The first picture shows a BASIC program running on my //e which is communicating with the ESP32 throughMeer card-slot 2. The ESP32 is using a json api which fetches the weather data over wifi. Then there's a picture of the actual card which I named the Apple2Idiot card. And a picture of configuring the wifi connection via another BASIC program. Finally a picture of my development environment. If you want to keep up with the project, you can find it on https://github.com/equant/apple2idiot

What’s a IIgs Zip GSX accelerator card (from
Zip Technologies) worth these days? I basically can’t find any auction results. I’m trying to help an older local guy find the right pricing for it, he clearly loved his Apple stuff and took reasonably good care of it.

Super Serial Card-

Took a hard look at what exactly the modem/terminal jumper does today. Flipping the rx/tx lines, null cable style, I follow but cross coupling the other lines like they do confuses me.

Did Apple have oddly wired external modems? I only ever used external modems on IBM, and IIRC all it took was a normal serial cable to a normalMeer serial port, the "reversing" was done in the modem.

A "Null" cable was needed to connect 2 serial ports together since a normal cable would have Tx-Tx and Rx-Rx etc.

What am I missing or forgetting?

(My question still stands, but I realize now that I had the arrangments backwards in my head when I wrote this.

Modem has all the lines exposed individually, Terminal jumps lines together in a manner I can't find ANY precident for.)

I have been restoring a //gs from St. Marks school that was beat up, very discolored, rusted inside on some components & the worse of all, etched writing on parts. The middle keyboard & mouse are just part ofMeer what has been cleaned, repaired & restored. More to go..

The //gs from St. Marks school is just one of the many Apple //'s and MAC's from the Rick Collection I am still receiving units on.

Done and Solved. Thanks All.

In description, how do I unplug the power source. Video says he unhooked 2 clips with a screw driver while pulling... is there a more detailed description some one can give? I am really pressed here and cannot go strong man and must understand these clips.

Just illustrating the issues I'm having with a couple of Kensington Turbo Mouse 5.0 on my ROM 01 IIGS. For some reason it's really laggy. It really reminds me of the 4.0, but maybe slightly better.

TheMeer Kensington Turbo Mouse 3.0 on the other hand has no issues. Same with the CoStar Stingray.

I'm wondering if Kensington had some variation of components used during the production run of the 5.0 that might explain why some people aren't having issues with theirs. Might be interesting to compare the chips between the ones that work against the ones that don't.

Hi everyone - Chuck here! Wow, the big commitment I made to my school district was upon me. But, lo, there was another contestant from my high school (a distant classmate of mine) that I had no idea would be competing directly with me in my entry category! I thought I was a shoe-in, but it turned out I was one of 2 computers entered in 1976. Meer However, things were looking encouraging enough:

I wrote numerous small programs to become more familiar with the 8008 architecture, including the beginnings of a small BASIC interpreter which I never finished. It was also becoming time to develop an application that would generate attention at the state science fair. I decided on crafting a game… Meer
