Inwood Community Group is dedicated to members of the Inwood and Washington Heights community discussing community issues, arts, and events related specifically to Inwood and Washington Heights. This is an open group; The word "open" is a Facebook privacy option indicating that this group is open to anyone on and off of Facebook to read.

This FB group was started to help the victims of the fire at 207th Street in January 2012. It began out of a genuine sense of community and caring, and it is our goal to maintain the spirit in which this page was created. Please continue that spirit by following the guidelines.

Posts that add value to the conversation are most welcome.

Moderators reserve the right to accept posts, delete comments and posts as they see fit, including duplicates and overposting.

Please report any threats, harassment, or implied acts of violence, which are also a violation of Facebook guidelines, immediately to the moderators.

-Members of the uptown community speak many languages. Since the most common shared one is English, please post/comment in English only or provide a translation.

-Inwood and WaHi related photos and videos are allowed and encouraged, but please obtain permission from any people that appear in your personal photo and videos before you post.

Noticed earlier this week that the corner of the Evan Frankel Foundation Boathouse in IHP has been repaired! Yay! (It was torn open in that big storm with all the wind back in July or August.) I hope the interior parts didn't sustain too much damage.
In other good news, saw there is a Little Library for kids' books outside the Cooper Street entrance to the schools at Good Shepherd.

We sustain the fridge with food donations from business, food organizations and neighbors that have excessiveMore food. If you know of anyone with a food business, organization, and pantry PLEASE reach out to us. If you are going to stop by please do not throw the trash in the full trash can by the fridge, it is unsanitary.
