I've finally pushed myself to photograph my recent build of Eduard's 1/48 Bf-109G-4 (OOB) flown by Slovak WWII ace Ján Režňák.

The whole kit was build entirely using MRP waterbased acrylics from the new/revised MRP Aqua A range, with focus on the recently released Luftwaffe colours. The primer was also waterbased.

It has to be said that these paints have been provided to me by MRP / René Molnár to test them and I was not given any instructions what or how to do it whatsoever.

To make it as transparent as possible, instead of using my regular method with spoons, which many find not relevant enough, I've decided to try them on a whole kit.

This particular camouflage scheme gave me the opportunity to test various common techniques used on scale models like preshading/black-basing, masking the camouflage with washi tape (wings), mottling (fuselage), paint sanding (yellow band due to my error), paint brushing (spinner, brush strokes on the engine cover), etc. which might be problematic with other paint brands.
The paints have been entirely reformulated. They are now thicker and they require thinning both for brush painting and airbrushing. Special thinner has been developed to be used with them too.

I have not encountered any problems while using them. Transition from lacquers to waterbased paint requires some getting used to, but nothing major.

I will include some additional info in the comments below.

Feel free to ask if you want to know more.

Old vs new - the new paint is now satin, not semi gloss. It also requires thinning. This makes them much better for brush painting.

MRP waterbased primer - the black MRP-APB vs OneShot primer. APB has sheen similar to Gunze MFS1500. It is sandable and very durable when properly dry.

Paint resistance to lacquer overspray and oil paints. No bubbling, no paint removed by the cotton swab.

No name tape for manicure left silver bands on the RLM04 and stripped a bit of paint too - this required sanding to primer and corrections. No issues with paint or primer tearing.

Jak byste je srovnal s Gunze H? Myslím ve smyslu práce s nimi.
