Love To Make Noise is a creative collective based at Royal Holloway university. We throw club-nights, house shows and parties, host a weekly radio show, publish zines, press CD’s and play records wherever there… More is a soundsystem that will host us.
We are a group of friends bound by cheap wine, loud music, bad dance moves and sheer boredom. We want to explode a small town in deepest, darkest Surrey that we now call home. Anyone can contribute as long as they have colour to spread. Calling bands, DJ’s, illustrators, writers, photographers, designers, thinkers, smart dressers…
Love To Make Noise is for anyone into twisting and shouting and stomping and shaking. For everybody that knows RHUL has the potential to come alive. It is an outlet for inventive music and good times.

On the 11th of August 1973 DJ Kool Herc had a beautiful baby girl, and he called her Hip-Hop. 40 years later and now she's full grown, some might say she's gotten a little worn out, that she ain't how she used… More be. But like any true love I see a side to her others don't get to and believe me when I say she still got a whole lot more to give.
I was only 5 years old when Hip-Hop came into my life, not old enough to appreciate the influence she would have on me. As I've grown so too has she and even though I dig a lot of what she's doing right now I will always remember her best as she was in the early 90's.
So here it is my tribute to Hip-Hop, not a progression mix - I figure too many people will be doing those and there's only so many times you can listen to Kurtis Blow and still find it novel. Instead this is a tribute to the development of hip-hop throughout my lifetime, the tracks and artists who have inspired and influenced me.
Here's to 40 more years of keeping it real.
