More than 200 firefighters will take part in the Memorial Stair Climb tomorrow in memory of the 343 New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters who lost their lives during the September 11 attacks. A memorial service will take place before they climb the Sky Tower to honour these firefighters, and to honour our New Zealand firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Tune in @11:30am Wednesday 11 September (NZST) to pay tribute.

We have two new firefighters from today!

Caitlyn and Charlee flew off to Christchurch last Friday to start their recruit firefighter course.

This course is the culmination of months of training here on station. Thanks to everyone who's helped get Cailtyn and Charlee ready to head on their course.

The completion of this course qualifies Caitlyn and Charlee to ride in the back of the truck to incidents.

Well done and congratulations from all the Officers and Members Ladies!

See you on the truck soon!
