Im Jahr 2022 findet das Festival contre le racisme (fclr) Ulm/Neu-Ulm bereits zum 7. Mal statt. Es handelt sich dabei um eine Veranstaltungsreihe für Courage, gegen Rassismus und andere menschenverachtende Einstellungen. In diesem Jahr setzen wir
uns mit unserer (post)kolonialen Gesellschaft auseinander.
Wir leben in Zeiten großer Herausforderungen - Klimawandel, gesellschaftliche Ungleichheiten, Digitalisierung, etc. Und wir leben in Zeiten von offen-aggressiven und provozierten Auseinandersetzungen. Von demokratiefeindlichen Demonstrationen in Ulm und Neu-Ulm bis zum Ausbruch des Krieges gegen die Ukraine am 24.02.2022.
Ein Krieg der geopolitischen Interessen aus kolonialen Motiven. Ein Krieg, der zu Flucht und Migration führt. Der gleichzeitig die Ungleichbehandlung der flüchtenden Menschen offenlegt. Ein Krieg, der die Zivilgesellschaft in Europa, in Deutschland fordert, ihre Werte zu definieren und sich die Fragen zu stellen: Was ist uns der Friede wert? Was ist uns die demokratische Grundordnung wert? Auf welches Fundament wollen wir die Zukunft stellen? Aber jetzt ist auch der Augenblick, kritisch zu hinterfragen, was in unserer Gesellschaft besser werden kann und muss!
Es sind Zeiten für große und notwendige Umbrüche. Weil die Umbrüche überfällig sind, werden sie sich radikal anfühlen (müssen). Sie werden Reibung erzeugen und Jede*r muss sich positionieren. Solche Wandlungsprozesse bieten aber auch Chancen. Das fclr möchte die Chance nutzen, für die Zusammenhänge kolonialer Erfahrungen, postkolonialer Migration, sozialer Ausgrenzung und rassistischer Praktiken zu sensibilisieren. Nur wer die Geschichte und Gegenwart begreift, kann die Zukunft adäquat gestalten.
Mittels Workshops, Vorträgen, Konzerten und Ausstellungen setzen wir uns mit vergangenen und aktuellen diskriminierenden und rassistischen Verhaltensweisen auseinander. Wir stellen die zugrundeliegenden Mechanismen dar und geben Beispiele, wie man diesen konkret entgegenwirkt.
„Erinnern heißt verändern“ proklamiert die „Initiative 19. Februar Hanau“ der Überlebenden und Angehörigen des rassistischen Terroranschlages. Das ist der Auftrag. Wir müssen die Gesellschaft verändern. Alle zusammen. Wenn du noch auf einen Tag wartest, um damit zu starten: Heute ist der Richtige!

In 2022, the Festival contre le racisme (fclr) Ulm/Neu-Ulm will take place for the 7th time. It is an event series for courage, against racism and other inhuman attitudes. This year we deal with our (post)colonial society.
We live in times of great challenges - climate change, social inequalities, digitalization, etc - and we live in times of openly aggressive and provoked confrontations. From anti-democratic demonstrations in Ulm and Neu-Ulm to the outbreak of war against the Ukraine on 24.02.2022.
A war of geopolitical interests based on colonial motives. A war that leads to flight and migration. A war that simultaneously exposes the unequal treatment of refugees. A war that challenges civil society in Europe, in Germany, to define its values and to ask itself the questions: What is peace worth to us? What is the basic democratic order worth to us? On what foundation do we want to build the future? But now is also the moment to critically question what can and must be improved in our society!
These are times for great and necessary upheavals. Because the upheavals are overdue, they will (have to) feel radical. They will create friction, and everyone will have to position themselves. But such transformation processes also offer opportunities. The fclr would like to use the chance to sensitize to the connections of colonial experiences, postcolonial migration, social exclusion, and racist practices. Only those who understand the past and present can adequately shape the future.
Through workshops, lectures, concerts, and exhibitions, we address past and present discriminatory and racist behaviors. We present the underlying mechanisms and give examples of how to counteract them concretely.
"Remembering means changing" proclaims the "Initiative February 19th Hanau" of the survivors and relatives of the racist terrorist attack. That is the mission. We have to change society. All of us together. If you are still waiting for a day to start: Today is the right one!
