The name "EleStory" was inspired by a song in Chinese that designer/founder Judy Jou grew up hearing from her mom:
"elephant, elephant, why is your nose so long?
Mama says, long noses
are beautiful"
The idea that the mother is telling her baby to be proud of who he/she is, reminded Judy of what her own mother had always encouraged in her. Ever since Judy lost her mom to cancer 13 years ago, she has been wanting to pursue her dream of starting a children's line. This is her "EleStory" being written.
