Really great points. Really.

More about the "wall" and who will, or will not, pay for it;
one of the primary reasons I oppose the wall is because they don't work and never have.
China built a wall 5,500 miles long to keep the Mongols out of China. China was overrun by Mongols under Genghis Khan in 1211.
The Berlin wall couldn't keep everyone in, and they would shoot you in every case, and kill your family in some cases, if you left.
One of the reasons we stopped building the original wall on our southern border was that it did little good. People went over, under and around it with little effort.
But, it sounds good if you don't look at all the facts. It even helped our current president get elected because Americans DO want secure borders.
Do you wonder why we're talking about re-starting this wall building exercise at a cost of many billions of dollars when we have NEVER even enforced the immigration laws currently on the books?
Do you know that current law provides for a penalty of 6 months in prison for a 1st offense of "improper entry", and can be up to 20 years for subsequent violations?
(Title 8 › Chapter 12 › Subchapter II › Part VIII › § 1325)
A few of these sentences actually being imposed would start the world's largest suitcase parade headed south across our southern border!
Zero expense to anyone, and no legislative action needed.
