Freshman rep Valoree Swanson has given us a bill to end the property tax!
HB 1050 calls on the Legislature to find that the current system is neither just nor functioning properly and must be replaced. It then repeals the ad valorem tax system (in Texas, this means the property tax) effective 2022.
