Carrying on the discussion from yesterday:
No assembly line vehicle is worth what the dealers want for them. Not even close. If I want to spend what equates to the price of a small home on a vehicle, it will be hand crafted from a skilled artisan.
Dollar devaluation aside (which negatively affects everything and is exclusively the fault of the government), the pricing mechanisms for new vehicles is NOT driven by market, materials, or demand, nearly as much as Union forced labor costs and unconstitutional government regulation of both materials and labor. And these unnatural influences have the added effect of creating a used car market that is necessary overpriced
Knowing the real value of a new or used car would require getting the Unions and the government out of the way, and allowing the prices to be set organically between buyers and sellers. In other words; we will likely never know the real value of a new or used car.
