For what it's worth, Glenn Beck, not all of us are here to fight for the idea of a Nation State called 'Merca!
Like so many others, I am fighting for what was created; a Union of States in which the federal government should be all but nonexistent in my life.
I'm fighting for the sovereignty of Texas, and in doing so I am necessarily fighting for the sovereignty every other State in this Union as well.
Like the citizens in so many other States, We Texans want limited government (Liberty), individual responsibility, balanced budgets, free trade, sane foreign policy, and to be represented by honest and forthright representatives. We do not want to be ruled over by a small elite government class of people funded by a gigantic political machine and their friends.
And what exactly is this monolithic "idea of America" you speak of and where do you find the authority to speak for all of us?
I'm a Texan, Glenn. You don't speak for me. Please don't try.
And FYI: George Washington, even with his shortcomings, was most certainly a great and principled man, but he was not the first, and he certainly wasn't the last.
