A recent study published by Colorado State University professor, Henry J. Thompson et al, showed that bean consumption greatly reduced the amount of visceral fat in rats. This finding has the potential to mitigate the ever increasing rates of obesity found in developed countries around the world by improving weight loss and reducing the incidence of chronic diseases associated with higher body mass index (BMI).
