Tropical Depression Tembin, called Vinta in the Philippines, is located in the South China Sea. The storm is expected to dissipate before making landfall in southern Thailand; however, media sources indicate associated heavy rainfall can be expected in the region for the next two to three days. Media sources indicated that hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated from Southern Vietnam in anticipation of Tropical Storm Tembin. The Vietnamese government reportedly closed oil rigs in the South China Sea and ordered fishermen to stay in port on Monday. Dozens of flights were canceled at airports in Vietnam. Residual disruptions should be expected as residual weather passes through the region.
