This might be the worst day in our history as a band. After a 16 hour drive we arrived in London yesterday night and as we wanted to pick up our van this morning it was not there anymore. Police says that is has not been towed away so we have to assume that our van including every single piece of equipment we own has been stolen.
We're very sorry to say that for now tonights show at Oslo is cancelled as far as we're hoping that our van comes back to us in any way and we're able to play at Koko on Friday.

If anyone in London comes across a silver Mercedes Sprinter, with a massive scratch on its right side with license plate "M-AS 3364" and a little round red Sticker saying "Atomkraft, Nein Danke" on the back door please let us know immediately!

We really don't know what to say or to do, so please keep your fingers crossed everyone that our van and all our instruments find their ways back to us!

xxxxx

There's something called Trace. It checks with all pounds or ticketing firms. They have to log it with Trace if it gets towed legitimately. If it's not logged with them then it is nicked

Is there a gear list, so that we can keep an eye out for stolen instruments etc?

Hi guys, Really sorry to hear about this. A similar situation happened to my band a couple of years ago... the majority of our gear was stolen from our van in Bristol. We compiled a list of everything that was taken and the next day we called every cash converters/cash generator and any music shops in the area we could find to inform them (and dropped off a list with pictures too)... in doing this we found some of our pedals/leads and accessories that had been ripped off my pedalboard sold to a local cash convertors. It was very little in comparison to what was taken but at least it was something. I would recommend giving it a go anyway. I wish you the best of luck, it truly is a heartbreaking thing to happen and I hope you catch the fuckers and justice is served. Cx

I'm 90 per cent sure it was towed... Sometimes the council tows vehicles away if they need to use that part of the road. Call whatever borough of London's council it was taken from

London has more CCTV than any other city on earth. It has to have been caught on camera.

Equipment is less personal, but instruments are - I wouldn't my instruments in a vehicle, especially in a strange town. Good luck, but I think you were careless.

This is a real shame. I have had my gear stolen before. Luckily with the help of the local police and cash converters I had a lot of my stuff returned.
However, one massive thing I learnt was NEVER leave your instruments in a car over night???
As part of several bands myself. It's just not the done thing. Your instruments are your living. PA equipment can be replaced but your money earners can't.
Lesson here for other musos - don't leave your gear unattended. ESPECIALLY in London!

Really hope this turns out to be a 'good news' story! Will spread the word for you

So sorry to hear the mat awful news. Same thing happened to some of my friends from Louisiana in Manchester on their penultimate gig. It was amazing how people rallied around to let them borrow instruments. I hope you have a happy ending.
