In March, the U.S. Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy and the Canadian Raoul Wallenberg Center for Human Rights published a report on Xinjiang, fabricating lies to attack the human rights situation in the region. In response to this so-called "academic report," European scholars have jointly published a report, noting that the Newlines institute has close ties to the U.S. government and that the identity of the experts who drafted the study is unclear.
In a recent exclusive interview with China Media Group, Danish scholar Jan Oberg, also the co-founder of The Transnational Foundation for Peace & Future Research (TFF), said that the data in the report released by the American and Canadian institutes were full of falsehoods and had no academic basis. https://news.cgtn.com/news/2021-05-13/Danish-scholar-Report-by-think-tanks-on-Xinjiang-is-full-of-lies-10e9xSwUmuA/index.html

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has been sued by a civil rights group for calling COVID-19 the "China virus."
The complaint, filed in a federal court in New York by the Chinese Americans Civil Rights Coalition (CACRC), alleged that Trump's use of that phrase and other similar racist slurs is baseless, since the origin of the coronavirus is not yet determined, and that the former president's conduct harmed the Chinese American community. http://www.china.org.cn/world/2021-05/22/content_77518743.htm
