Über Camp Hometown Heroes
Camp Hometown Heroes is a safe, fun and unique week-long overnight summer camp for children and younger siblings of fallen U.S. service members who have died in any manner – combat, accidents, suicide, illness or any manner of death.

This camp is specifically designed to provide children ages 7-17 with opportunities for friendship, fun, acceptance, and personal growth. Through the support of pediatric grief specialists the children and teenagers are provided the chance to grieve and heal. Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors, Camp Hometown Heroes is provided free of charge to all children who attend. Air travel is also provided free of charge to all campers who need it.

Camp Hometown Heroes is operated by Hometown Heroes.

The debut camp was in June 2013 with ongoing camps held since then. Registration and other inquiries can be made to Hometown Heroes Director of Outreach Deb Paschke at paschke@hometownheroes.org

Jim Kacmarcik and Neil Willenson of Kapco Metal Stamping in Grafton, Wisconsin initiated the camp as a way of honoring the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the U.S. and as a way of helping their children heal.

Our nation must never forget the men and women who have given their lives through service to our country. The best way to remember these fallen heroes is by embracing the children they left behind.

Financial support is provided by the Grand Slam Charity Jam, Kapco Metal Stamping, the Yontz Valor Foundation, Culver's of southeastern Wisconsin, Medix, the Thomas and Ellen Hogue Family Foundation, Steve Stricker/American Family Dreams Foundations, Fox Sports Wisconsin, Kohl's Corporation, Kohler Alliance of Veterans and Supports, Western Plows and the Brewers Community Foundation among many others. Multiple American Legion post divisions and many other veteran organizations back our mission also. In addition, innumerable volunteer and in-kind donations make our undertaking possible.
