CW: Mentions of sexual assault
This afternoon we had the ANUSA & PARSA speak out event in front of the Chancellery. A lot of brave students spoke out, not only about the results of the AHRC survey and ANU's mismanagement of such cases, but also about their own experiences as survivors.
We can only hope that this momentum will carry forward and we will see some real change in ANU's policy towards sexual assault, as well as attitudes towards survivors.
A big thank you to James Connolly, Codie Bell and Freya Mww for organising this event, and speaking about their experiences.
If you need to contact support services, we recommend the Canberra Rape Crisis Centre- (02) 6247 2525 (7am - 11pm)
Our friends at the ANU BIPOC Department have produced a Racism Survey.
If you have seen, heard or experienced anything you deem to be rooted in racism, we encourage to participate in the survey and make sure your voice is heard.

Sending love and solidarity ❤❤ [red hearts]
As the 2021 BIPOC Department Exec, we know that there is racism at ANU. What we don't know is exactly what's happening, when it happens, who is doing it and how it is being done.
For this reason we are sending out the first annual ANUSA BIPOC Department Racism Survey.
If you have seen, heard or experienced anything you deem to be rooted in racism, please fill out the anonymous link below.

No incident is too small or insignificant to be included. It is so important that we know exactly what is going on so that we can advocate for you to make positive change. We only know the incidents that are told to us. If you have reported something, to your hall, sr, school, college or club, please feel free to report it to us too. If it made you uncomfortable and you have an inkling that it could even possibly be racism, please let us know regardless. We are accepting any incidents that may have happened at ANU, this could be this year or earlier.
If the form doesn't work for you, please email sa.ethnocultural@anu.edu.au, attend one of our meetings or DM our social media pages.
Lots of love,
The BIPOC Dept Exec
