This is not legal advice or a legal statement, but many businesses in Hillsdale intend to open back up tomorrow to regular hours. Most will be operating under some sort of new self imposed restrictions for social distancing and we can trust our responsible community to do this voluntarily. Those that choose to do so it is a personal decision and I support them and will do what I can to protect them.
Now is the time to salvage what we can. I thank the state legislature for finally stepping in.
Microbreweries are all the rage. So is historic renovation and preservation. So it’s no surprise that Hillsdale Brewing Company is one of our downtown hotspots. Roy and Felicia have put their blood and sweat into 25 Hillsdale Street, a building that’s served as a hotel, a saloon, storage for a hardware company, and yes, a brothel. With nearly a dozen microbrews, build a macaroni and cheese a la carte, and the best homemade potato chips I know of, it’s an experience you do not want to miss out on.
Would you expect to find delicious authentic Tai food at a place called “Coffee Cup Diner”? If you guessed no, you’d be wrong. Pai’s legacy is still alive and well in Downtown Hillsdale, and Brandy and Jeremiah have picked up the mantle and kept this jewel alive. They also have my favorite pancakes in the city! Visit Coffee Cup Diner next time you’re looking for a taste of adventure or a traditional American cuisine.
Here’s to You Pub and Grub is Hillsdale’s “Cheers”. Everyone knows your name and what you like to drink. Voted Hillsdale’s best burgers, Pub and Grub is open late and ready to serve you. Did I mention they have daily specials that you wouldn’t expect to find in a small Southern Michigan town, like mango pulled pork street tacos. Kevin and Tim also have the only billiard table downtown. Thanks for your service to our city Kevin and Tim!
