Our clients are seven brave families, like Susan and Sally Waters, who are harmed everyday by discriminatory laws based upon who they are and who they love. Our hope is that the thousands of same-sex couples who call Nebraska home will have the freedom to marry and their relationships recognized soon. It is imperative to end the discrimination enshrined in our state’s constitution.
Changes in court schedules and attempts by the State of Nebraska to delay our case won't keep us from gathering to celebrate the brave clients fighting for the freedom to marry in Nebraska!
In the wake of record levels of turnout last year, we're seeing far too many states try to cut back on voter access and disenfranchise Black and Brown voters.
Those bills in Nebraska don't look to have a path forward this year, but that doesn't mean the work is done. Make time this weekend to tell our federal lawmakers to protect our voting rights.
Today is day five of #DoGoodWeek, when Nebraskans come together to support communities and the nonprofits that serve them.
This #FundItFriday, we are extra thankful for our supporters who help us protect civil rights and civil liberties for all Nebraskans. Here at the ACLU of Nebraska we do not take government dollars to fund our work. Everything we do is made possible by Nebraskans like you.
