Felix Meet Felix! He had a Wilms #tumour - a rare kidney cancer. When he arrived at Upendo Children’s cancer ward in Moshi, #Tanzania, Felix was very sick, his body was swelling. Initial investigations discovered that his tumour had spread from his left kidney all the way to his right heart atrium. The team began Felix’ chemotherapy and consulted surgeons both local and international. A team of local specialists had recently returned from their training in cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery. An international specialist oncology surgeon was also due to visit at just the right time! This photo was taken 10 days after these two marvellous surgical teams opened Felix’ tummy and heart at the same time and removed all his #cancer.
