TraceTogether to be open sourced.
TraceTogether has been installed by more than 620,000 people so far. We are grateful for your trust.
GovTech Singapore Is now working around the clock to finalise our protocol reference documents and reference implementation, so that others may deploy their own flavours of TraceTogether -- each implementing the BlueTrace protocol.
We believe that making our code available to the world will enhance trust and collaboration in dealing with a global threat that does not respect boundaries, political systems or economies.
Together, we can make our world safer for everyone.
Always a pleasure to meet with my counterparts in the Ministerial Coordination Group on COVID-19 (MCGC) organised by Canada Foreign Minister François-Philippe Champagne.
We spoke about the importance of working closely with the private sector to strengthen domestic resilience and keep international supply chains functioning. We as governments have an important facilitative role to ensure that critical infrastructure, such as our air and seaports, remain open to support global value chains.
The MCGC has been speaking on a number of occasions, but it was nice to see everyone’s faces as we conversed via videoconference for the first time! I look forward to our next meeting.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Remembering my mum, grateful to my wife and proud of my daughter.
Say hello to our new safe distancing ambassador – SPOT! Since yesterday, SPOT has been hard at work at the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.
For this trial, SPOT has been recruited to remind people to observe safe distancing measures in public areas at parks, gardens and nature reserves managed by NParks, and at parks managed by town councils.
There are many benefits in using innovations such as SPOT to support Singapore’s safe distancing efforts. First, SPOT will reduce the manpower required for park patrols and minimise physical contact among staff, volunteer safe distancing ambassadors and park visitors. Second, SPOT is able to estimate the number of visitors in parks through video analytics developed by our team at GovTech. I hear that SPOT is also highly nimble across different terrains. SPOT is fitted with safety sensors to detect objects and people within 1m of its path, so we think it would help to keep our parks and gardens safe for visitors.
Technology plays an instrumental role in our fight against COVID-19, and we are constantly looking for ways to use it to keep Singapore safe. if you see SPOT at our parks, say hi but remember to keep your distance!
