What game changed your life?
Today, our Director of Animation, Dom Drozdz weighs in for our latest #GameChanger feature and his answer might surprise you...while making Buzz Lightyear proud.
DROZDZ:
There are a few games that strongly influenced my career; however, if I had to pick one that made me re-consider what I wanted to do and truly changed my life, it’s actually not a game, it’s a feature film: Toy Story.
The release of Toy Story was a milestone in the entertainment industry. Not only did it revolutionize filmmaking, but it influenced all sorts of mediums, including video games. It was a true game changer for me.
Before watching it I had considered 3D to be a tech gimmick more than anything else. After viewing Toy Story, I remember being unable to wrap my head around what just happened, but I knew this is what I wanted to do: 3D ANIMATION.
I had to go see it again a few days later, and again and again. A year later when I had the opportunity to move from Paris to Los Angeles to work at a video game studio, the decision was very easy – this was the place to be to make my dream come true.
